VMware View Technical Specialist

 

 

This one is 6+ months in St.  Louis, MO. 

 

I do not have a rate at this time but this is a long term client with us and we have several contractors working there now.  They will hire immediately. 

 

VMware View Technical Specialist

 

Provide technical direction on VDI infrastructure evaluations and implementations. Candidate must have working experience with VMware View 4.1 or above. All others will be rejected.

 

Client is currently in a major deployment of VMware View VDI and requires additional senior-level technical resource to augment our existing project team.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs complex technical analysis of software, hardware, infrastructure and network systems including capacity and resource planning, assessing risks and contingency planning.

Analyzes the results of workflow plans, monitors operating systems and recommends changes to improve processing and utilization.

Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones and communicating these changes to impacted Business Systems teams.

Interacts with other technology services teams, IS support groups and/or external vendors to restore service and correct core problems. Maintains currency and high level of technical skill in field of expertise.

Designs and manages standards to minimize possible conflicts with other equipment and applications within the enterprise.

Develops procedures for routine administration including backup/restore, allocation, archival, shutdown, and startup.

Diagnoses, isolates and de-bugs infrastructure problems and performs problem resolution.

Works with management to design, develop and implement information technology strategies, policies and procedures which yield improved quality and cost effective information systems or services for the enterprise.

Leads the evaluation of products and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.

Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures and provides Tier 2 technical support.

Provides technical direction and oversight to technical staff.
