Your role as the Senior QA Tester is to help test development applications. Our Web applications are built using Oracle J2EE application technology, which includes Oracle Application Server (10g), WebLogic server (Oracle 11g), and WebCenter Portal (10g and 11g).


Primary Roles and Responsibilities

·        Test planning, design, and execution for a variety of Web-based applications

·        Perform testing across multiple products using manual and automated tools and technologies

·        Develop and maintain test plans and test cases in Quality Center or similar tool

·        Plan and conduct various types of testing: functional, integration, regression, performance, workflow and load testing

·        Perform within the context of an agile development team

·        Track and report on status of testing and bugs

·        Provide accurate work estimates

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

·        BS Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)

·        Minimum 6 years’ experience in the software QA field or in a related field

·        Experience with testing tools such as Quality Center and ClearQuest (defect tracking)

·        In-depth knowledge of planning, design and execution of all aspects of testing including: Functional, Integration, Load, Performance and Regression testing.

·        Experience with testing Web and Windows applications

·        Knowledge and hands use of SQL data bases: Oracle and/or SQL Server

·        Experience with HTML, XML and scripting tools are a big plus

·        Experience with Java, JUnit, and JQGrid is a plus

·        Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodology

·        Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective troubleshooting skills when resolving complex issues

·        Ability to accurately establish the length and difficulty of tasks and projects, set reasonable objectives and goals, anticipate and adjust for problems/roadblocks and measure results against goals

·        Ability to perform and orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously

·        Ability to perform special assignments as requested by the Product Development

·        Management team

·        Ability to coordinate the software development lifecycle processes with cost perspective

·        Applies test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and certification of products.

·        Works collaboratively with development during all stages of projects to provide in-process testing results.

·        Assures the appropriate level of quality by resolving critical defects and working with developers to ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing

·        Responsible for the overall success of testing

·        Manages assigned projects from Quality Testing through final User Acceptance Testing

·        Able to handle sensitive and complex issues with discretion and good judgment

·        Automation Testing Experience Preferred
