Work Location : Rancho Cordova , CA

They need to be very strong in Java. GWT is a plus but not necessary.
Others good skills to have are JBoss, Hibernate (or similar java persistence framework), Spring, Eclipse, CVS or Mercurial.

Primary Responsibilities

The Senior Software Developer position requires strong business skills and is responsible for software development activities, including reviewing requirements, creating original designs and authoring original software solutions, creating and/or modifying systems code and functionality, testing, and debugging system software. The Sr. Software Developer consults with users to identify current functional and technical requirements, and to clarify program objectives. The Software Developer is also responsible for writing requirements, design, and technical documentation to describe custom configuration of applications and operating procedures.

Specific responsibilities

•Design and create software web solutions using Java. Experience with GWT a plus.

•Design and create software services using Java, JBOSS, JAX-WS, and Hibernate.

•Create unit tests covering new and existing code, consistent with automated testing procedures.

•Collect and analyze user requirements, create technical designs, and write technical design documentation of proposed solutions.

•Work cooperatively with other team members responsible for other parts of large-scale enterprise software systems.

•Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of business processes, and design & create software solutions to affect efficiencies.

•Investigate and identify root cause of application functionality, network communication, server-to-server software issues and design & implement corrective modifications to Client systems.

•Investigate technical issues and design solutions for existing software applications to meet changing user requirements.

•Work with the DBA/Database group to design and implement data solutions for enterprise-level systems.

•Participate in weekly meetings with the Development team members to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress on a weekly basis.

•Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects.

Profile

•Must have at least 2 years’ experience working through the design, development, and release cycle delivering software to market.

•A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.

•Experience developing web solutions using Java. Experience with GWT a plus.

•Experience with client-side JavaScript, HTML, CSS and XML.

•Experience with J2EE frameworks, Java application servers and Java APIs.

•Experience developing software services using JBoss, JAX-WS, and Hibernate a plus.

•Experience developing software using Microsoft .NET, C# a plus.

•Experience with SQL programming, with PL/SQL programming experience desired.

•Familiarity with development of high-performance Oracle/SQL Server stored procedures and functions.

•Demonstrated ability to document source code, preferably with Javadoc.

•Familiarity with build systems (Ant or Maven), and Linux or Unix.

•Proficiency with software source control tools such as Mercurial, CVS, and Subversion.

•Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.

•Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Client-Server, and multi-tier applications development desired.

•Large / enterprise application development experience preferred.

•Experience in the development of software for low-level communications and direct device control/automation strongly desired.

Skills

•Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.

•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

•Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

•Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
