We have the following urgent requirement with a leading Finance (Direct) Client.

Title: Sr.Engineer, Network Engineering

Location: O'Fallon, Missouri

Duration: 12 Months

 

Job Description:

Job Overview:

Supports and assists with the design, architecture, implementation, security and support of large multi-site, multi-vendor MPLS network communication environments.

 

Major Accountabilities:

•Manage and implement network projects for the installation of data center hardware and meeting efficient SLA deadlines.

•Thorough understanding of TCP/IP as it relates to network sub-netting and IP/VIP address assignments.

•Resolves network communications and operations problems impacting data center hardware or backbone access and performance globally.

•Participates in telecommunications-related initiatives.

•Research and develop innovative solutions around unified network solutions.

•Supports assigned special regional projects, which include responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation.

•Supports Vendor management. 

 

Education:

•Bachelors degree in Data Networks, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge / Experience:

•Three to five years of overall IT experience in the following areas: - Networking, including LAN/WAN – basic knowledge of Firewalls - wireless - Security and encryption technologies.

•Experience with TCP/IP protocol communications. Cisco CCNA preferred but not necessary.

•Broad knowledge of Cisco's product portfolio. Especially as it relates to switch port configurations and understanding router configurations.

•Broad knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices.

•Perform data center hardware and connectivity audits of various types for Winghaven (O'Fallon) and Kansas City (and credit card data center sites as designated).

•Knowledge of Network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS technologies.

 

Soft Skills/ Abilities:

•Strong verbal and written communications skills.

•Self starter with demonstrated listening skills.

• Works well in a team environment

• Quick learner of new processes and applications

• Detailed oriented for all responsibilities

•Serves as a mentor to lower level employees and lead others and use good judgment.

•Limited supervision; work may be reviewed for direction and strategy.

• Displays work behaviors of high integrity and honesty

 

Work Conditions:

•Supports a 7 by 24 Global Network.

•Some flexibility in core work hours of M-F.

*40 hours per week/ no planned overtime
