Position: Lead Java Engineer
Location: Marlborough,MA

Keys to this Position:        
.    Lead and Sr Java Engineer opening with Wellington in Marlborough.
.    Technical:  We are seeking well rounded developers with the following technical skills:  Java, J2EE, Oracle, Web Services, MQ or Active MQ Messaging skills.          ETL or Datastage is a plus.  Some roles are more focused on Tomcat, Spring and Struts along with Java, Oracle.  The Senior role is 80 to 90% coding.
.    For the Lead role the position is 50 to 70% hands on coding and the balance is leading a team.  The Lead should have experience leading a team of 5 to 10.             developers.  Must have experience leading offshore teams.  Wellington uses an on and offshore model.
.    Excellent Communication skills are required.  This individual will need to be able to articulate technical solutions to the business teams.
.    Financial Services experience.
.    The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience.
.    Phone interviews are fine to start with but in person interview in MA are required, no exceptions.
 
Job Responsibilities:              
.    Technical architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support of the systems that serve needs of Financial Services Organization
.    Lead small to mid-sized development teams involved in full-lifecycle development efforts which are based J2EE, Linux/Unix and Oracle technologies
.    Responsible for code quality and assurance by focusing on static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release         management, performance tuning, test strategy and execution
.    Partner with System Analysts and Project Managers to implement business requirements
.    Partner with Project Managers, Technical and QA Leads on estimates, statuses, identify issues and raise risks
.    Provide hands-on development and mentoring of other more junior members of the development team.
.    Coordinate infrastructure related activities with middleware and database teams
.    Implement systems based on well defined SLAs

Job Qualifications:                 
.    The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and proven ability to design and deliver solutions relevant to complex business problems.
.    Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills.
.    Ability to articulate technical solutions to system analysts and business teams without using too much technical jargon
.    6-8 years of experience including 2-3 years of experience in leading a software engineering team with onshore and offshore resources
.    At least 2-3 years experience working with enterprise messaging such as the MQ/Active MQ messaging system and distributed computing platforms.
.    3-4 years of proven object-oriented software design and development experience in Java-based technologies
.    2-3 years of proven software development experience with browser-based applications and technologies
.    At least 4 years of experience and expert-level proficiency at Database development in Oracle
.    3+ years of proven experience with such technologies as web services, XML/XSLT, Struts, Grails, log4j, ANT, Spring, AJAX
.    Experience using and deploying to industry-leading application servers such as Tomcat or BEA WebLogic 9.x
.    Financial industry knowledge is a plus
.    Experience with iterative software development methodologies, such as Agile
.    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
