Basic Qualifications
7+ years database design and administration experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Oracle Database Administration and Oracle Application Development
- Must have logical and physical design experience.
- Demonstrated experience in database architecture, data modeling and schema design
- Proven experience in intricate ETL development like Informatica, IBM Datastage, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Data Integrator or similar tools
- Knowledge with Experience in using data quality and data profiling technologies (review preferred list section below)
- Experience leading data development teams
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and trace data related issues throughout the architecture
- Proven experience of large scale OLTP and DSS database deployments
- Population and tuning of databases, ETL processes, SQL queries while meeting business requirements and clients needs
- Hands-on demonstrated experience with PL/SQL and associated features and functions available within the language
- Proven experience with Agile methodology and understanding of SDLC in an agile environment
- Demonstrated experience in meta-data management and data traceability techniques
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply business rules and terminology, apply good interpersonal skills, and perform effectively under time pressure are critical skills required for this position
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Must be strong in analyzing how Oracle resources are being used during SQL executions.
Expert in utilizing the performance tuning tools like Explain plan, AWR, Grid control or similar technologies from other vendors like Quest. Understand and interpret the reports generated from tools and action plan to overcome performance issues.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in IT (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) or related field and 9+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in information systems design and development
- Oracle Database Administrator Certification 10g or 11g
- Experience with Oracle technologies (partitioning, security, encryption, performance tuning, memory management, SQL tuning, statistics gathering, Application audit logs, Oracle total recall, Oracle RAC, XML Manipulation, Scheduling, etc.)
- Experience in orchestrating the coordination of data related activities to ensure on-time delivery of data solutions to support business capability requirements including data activity planning, risk mitigation, issue resolution and design negotiation
- Demonstrated experience with designing and managing relational database technology with multiple RDBMS vendors (Oracle preferred) in OLTP, data delivery and OLAP usage
- Demonstrated ability in designing effective management of reference data
- Experience with multiple data extract and delivery designs and developments including Pub/Sub, ETL, Operational Data Stores/Subjects Data Marts/Analytical and Data Presentation layers such as Business Intelligence
- Proven experience in an iterative development approach
- Familiar with Data standards/procedures and data governance and how the governance and data quality policies can be implemented in data integration projects (Knowledge and experience in using Data profiling and Data Quality tools)
- Introduce best practices and integrate industry trends in projects.
- Desire to do proof of concept projects and Mentor other team members for development
- Experience with build systems like SVN, Maven and Continuum
- Experience for integration Database layer and application layer (Java) like Hibernate
