Requirement: SharePoint 2010 Administrator

Role: SharePoint 2010 Administrator

Location: Princeton, NJ

Duration: This 12+ month position starts ASAP.

 

Project Description: Responsibility for enterprise search service based upon SharePoint 2007 Search and Fast Search for SharePoint 2010. Gather requirements from clients around Best Bets, search content sources, source ranking, search contexts and rules and translate these into actionable activities for the search system administrators and development teams. In some cases (e.g. Best Bets, content source ranking, etc.) implement the configuration updates directly.

- Thoroughly understand all features of FAST Search for SharePoint 2010 and how to optimize the user search experience. Work closely with the search infrastructure team to provide guidance on tuning and modifications to improve overall user search experience. Review search metrics on a daily basis to look for trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Respond to issues in the search service and work with clients, other service managers, and external service providers to bring successful resolution.

- Test updates of software layer and configuration changes to insure they function appropriately and meet performance requirements.

- Stay up to date on existing and new capabilities and determine applicability for use and determine appropriate implementation strategies.

 

Key Characteristics:

- Good technical understanding of search engines and search concepts

- Experience with administration of search engines and relevancy tuning

- Thorough understanding of search features in FAST Search for SharePoint 2010

- Experienced in working with clients, gathering requirements, and translating those into system improvements

- Strong skills in building and maintaining successful networks and relationships with key leaders in the search space

- Organizes and presents ideas in a convincing and compelling manner

- Persuades and influences others with effective verbal and written communication

- Understands the value of process-centric approach to business analysis and capability development.

- Command of project management techniques and tools

- Identifies process, technology and organizational role changes necessary to support business goals and objectives

- Minimum 3 years of search experience with SharePoint, FAST or FAST search for SharePoint

 

Required Skills: SharePoint 2007 Search, Fast Search for SharePoint 2010, and Best BETS
