We are looking for Cognos Manager/ Analyst– Rahway, NJ– 12 + Months Contract Position 

 

Position is based in NJ – Cokesbury or Rahway site with occasional travel to West Point, PA

 

 Roles and Responsibilities:

 

·          Analyze requirements and translate them into BI solutions.

·          Prepare analysis and design deliverables and provide input into project plans.

·          Participate in design meetings and be the BI subject matter expert.

·          Design BI solutions and coordinate and oversee development performed by on-shore and off-shore resources.

·          Maintain relevant status and project tracking.

·          Lead all phases of projects from design to implementation including specifications, development, testing, implementation, and rollout.

 

Skill:

 

·         Must have an extremely strong conceptual and technical understanding of the various toolsets available in IBM Cognos BI. 

·         Knowledge of implementing Cognos with Teradata platform is a plus

·         Knowledge of DMR (Dimensionally Modeled Relational) data in Cognos 8 or 10 is needed

·         Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts & proficiency with advanced SQL.

·         Work closely with business and IT teams to prioritize BI demands, analyze requirements and develop solutions within our standard IT framework for BI (Teradata and IBM Cognos BI).  Ability to question and challenge requirements in order to provide the best possible solution.

·         Serve as a technical lead and key contributor called upon to solve highly technical, complex problems.  Able to envision the big picture and design appropriate solutions.

·         Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to independently make sound judgments and come up with creative solutions to complex problems.

·         Effective interpersonal communication, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment.

·         Must be able to work productively in a deadline-driven environment and operate at a high level of independence and responsibility when carrying out assignments.
