| Description |
| An experienced Hardware Manager/Team Lead – who has gone thru the full project lifecycle - in a Windows based environments. With coding and database skills - while coding skill are required and I background in ASP.NET / VB.NETand SQLSERVER is preferred – this is not a coding position. Large company financial background preferred in building scalable, high-quality and high-performance applications on a Microsoft technology stack. An understanding of middle-ware concepts a plus
– The candidate will be required to do some coding – but not much and will need to lead, and coordinate resources; to communicate with peers inside and outside of his/her group.
The candidate will also need a good understand of Disaster Recovery procedures from an application, hardware and data perspective. The candidate needs an awareness of archiving and storage (SAN) management procedures. A strong understanding of Quality Assurance processes a plus. The candidate needs to understand hardware (Windows' based server technology) support and needs to work with datacenter personnel to troubleshoot and keep the business running.
Design and Develop Interfaces:
To support worldwide monitoring of hardware and communication performance
To lead and mentor developers and share knowledge through knowledge-sharing presentations
Participate in an experienced, energetic team on a rapid, agile development schedule.
Skills / Attributes Required
10 (+) years experience as a Hardware Manager / Technical lead / data architect
5 (+) years of database background working with SQL Server (2005/2008 preferred) , etc…
5 (+) years experience at coding with ASP.NET/VB.NET, etc…
An understanding of database clustering, data performance issues, physical and logical data design and object-oriented programming (OOP) and a computer science background is preferred -
A knowledge of .NET 3.5/4.0 Framework, including Visual Studio 2008, VB.NET, ASP.NET is a plus
A Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices – a plus
Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA)
A knowledge of and the ability to design and optimize TSQL, and stored procedures
Large Insurance Company, background is a plus (areas of concentration – underwriting and reinsurance a plus)
The ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment required
A background in Disaster Recovery procedures a plus; User support, data archiving and storage (SAN) management procedures and understanding a plus; a knowledge of Quality Assurance processes a plus
Education:
Master degree in Computer Science a plus, Software Engineering or a related areas a plus.
