Our Financial client in Tampa, is looking for a highly motivated well rounded Web services Developer who will be a part of the following project:
Position: Web services Developer Contract – Long term
Location: Tampa, FL
Please ensure that candidate has strong Java RESTful web service development background which is more important than OData experience.
Visual Studio, DB/2, Java web programming including JSON and RESTful interactions, Java web based client and back-end programming. OData experience preferred, not required.
Description:
· Use Visual Studio EDM Designer to design an Entity Data Model.
· Prototype a data service using the CLIENT standard Java technology stack providing OData access to a DB/2 database. Use odata4j. Use CSDL generated by EDM Designer. The code will be used as an example by people building OData services.
· Show that the data can be accessed by multiple OData clients such as: Excel 2012 PowerPivot, OData Explorer, LINQPad, and Sesame.
· Add new tables/columns and measure effort to evolve the service to support these for new clients while not breaking backwards compatibility for old clients. Point to or create a "how to".
· Measure effort to change the abstraction at the OData interface while not changing the database (e.g. provide a computed property). Point to or create a "how to".
· Use CLIENT standard Java stack and odata4j to build a simple client. The code will be used as an example by people building OData clients.
· Benchmark client and service performance under different loads (e.g. number of simultaneous clients, size of records, number of records)
· Design and prototype OData-compatible change notification message contents (i.e. how could OData be used in a push model)
