Sr. SAP BASIS Administrator - ABAP

JOB TITLE: Sr. SAP BASIS Administrator - ABAP
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Duration: 4+ months
Rate: $70/hr C2C

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
This position is responsible for the technical monitoring, support and administration of the SAP system landscape including SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Composition Environment, SAP R/3 (ERP), SAP Customer Relationship Management (CRM), SAP Solution Manager (Operations & ChaRM modules). Responsibilities also include project management, change management, and optimization roadmap utilizing SAP Solution Manager RunSAP methodology.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
• Manage SAP Enterprise Portal and SAP Composition Environment to ensure that performance is optimal and execute performance tuning and monitoring of the environment. Install new environment and support projects for implementation.
• Performance Monitoring, Tuning, Troubleshooting & Capacity Planning: Perform daily system monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting to ensure optimum system performance and minimal system downtime of the SAP system landscape. 
• Monitoring of CPU utilization, Swap space, memory utilization, disk space utilization, system logs, database growth, memory buffers, transaction logs, SAP buffers, update terminations, lock entries, background jobs, system availability, ABAP dumps, response times, etc. 
• Transport (ChaRM) and Client Copy Administration: Administer the transport and correction system using ChaRM to ensure timely, accurate and authorized transports of system changes from development environments to production environment resulting in secure and reliable systems. 
• Coordinate TDMS and database copy utilizing flash copy. 
• Perform the installation of SAP support packages, kernel patches, SAP add-on patches and software upgrades as required and approved to ensure the security and reliability of the SAP environment. 
• Maintain the OSS system and interact directly with SAP via OSS to resolve technical issues, review and apply OSS notes, and schedule services such as EarlyWatch to help ensure the integrity of the SAP systems. 
• Maintain authorization roles, profiles and user accounts as approved by the appropriate managers to ensure a secure environment. 
• Coordinate the configuration and deployment of the SAPGUI client to ensure reliable access to the SAP systems. 
• Job Scheduling & Monthly Maintenance: Coordinate the scheduling of automated jobs per defined change control procedures and also perform monthly maintenance activities including period end closing to ensure the integrity of the systems. 
• Maintain the backup and restore configuration within the SAP systems to ensure timely and reliable backups/restores of all SAP systems. 
• Support data archiving processes by ensuring proper configuration, maintenance and ongoing connectivity to the data archiving solution resulting in secure offline data and improved system performance and disk utilization. 
• Create technical operations procedures guides that effectively document all areas of the SAP technical landscape to ensure consistent maintenance and support.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in related field preferred or equivalent work experience 
• Minimum of 7 years of SAP R/3 Basis administration experience; including Solution Manager toolset and methods. 
• Demonstrated skills in utilizing project management techniques. 
• Strong skills in systems analysis, design, development, testing and documentation. 
• Strong problem solving skills with well organized and structured work habits. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function well as a team member or independently.
