Title: PL/SQL Developer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 12 month contract with possibility of extension

Interview: Face to Face

 

Job Description:

 

•             Plans, analyzes, designs, implements, maintains, and controls the organization's databases.

•             Consults with and provides guidance to database users and client groups, often recommending tactical and strategic solutions.

•             Performs moderately complex server-class database activities across various platforms and environments including one or more of the following: business requirement identification and analysis; conceptual, logical, and/or physical database design; data modeling and/or mapping; moderate to complex programming and coding to automate and/or support the database environment; performance monitoring and tuning; analyzing database metrics and assisting with capacity planning; planning, testing, configuration and execution of installations, upgrades and migrations; and implementing security controls.

•             Leads, mentors and/or provides guidance to less experienced database analysts, where applicable, including guidance for troubleshooting escalated issues.

•             May participate in the development of data/ database architectures and management policies, procedures and standards

•             May lead moderately complex projects.

•             Working in Database development environment for developing Financial Application solutions.

•             Act as an individual contributor and tech lead for database development team in providing secured database access layer to various client applications in a service oriented architecture (SOA) and providing extracts to enterprise data warehouse (EDW) using SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle 10g Database

•             Used complex PL/SQL programs by implementing Ref Cursors, Collections, Bulk operations.

•             Responsible for gathering requirements by performing interview with stakeholders.

•             Acted as team lead for database development and communicated with team members for designing data model, application architecture and in using best methods from the industry.

•             Involved in designing of data access layer, data extracts, and auditing technologies on Oracle database systems.

•             Designed PL/SQL application to provided dynamic extracts to data warehouse team

•             Involved in performance tuning of the application by doing a volume test on huge volume of OLTP database.

•             Involved in using Automatic work load repository (AWR) to identify system

•             Bottlenecks and involved in tuning application at the database level using OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager).

•             Analyzed SQL plan, execution paths, Physical I/O. Buffer I/O, CPU time and wait interface.

•             Performed complex coding in sql, pls/sql, and unix shell scripts.

•             Created Oracle data base objects including tables, indexes, and PL/SQL procedures, packages, types, sub types, and dynamic SQL.

•             Used various pl/sql package utilities including DBMS_SQL, DBMS_JOB, ULOG, UTL_FILE, DBMS_PROFILE for complex banking operations.

•             Performed tuning on sql and pl/sql using Explain plan, TKPROF, SQL * Trace, and used Oracle Hints

•             Performed BULK Load and BULK fetch for minimum context switching.

•             Application used oracle streams, CDC (change data capture) technology, and AQ(Advanced Queuing) technologies.

•             Followed processed environment regulations for up to date build/releases, change requests, and bug fixes.

•             Communicated with multiple teams across organization including Business services, QA, Testing and System architecture teams.

•             Maintained documentation for DFW (data flow diagrams), process flow diagrams, functional spec, technical specs, business requirements, and data dictionary documents.

•             Used Autosys for job scheduling and NDM file transfer protocol for secure transfer of files.

•             Provided daily data extracts to other data warehousing, and fraud detection teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

•             4 year degree in IT or related field

•             5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

•             Expertise in PL/SQL design, development, testing and troubleshooting

•             Expertise in Oracle SQL and SQL, PL/SQL performance management

•             Excellent communication skills
