Job Title:- Business Analyst Data Warehousing with HealthCare Exp.

 

Job Purpose

 

Act as a liaison between the business and technical communities by identifying the impact of potential projects to ISDS through a structured scouting and estimation process.  Additionally s/he will identify project requirements through a structured elicitation process, capture needs  in a concise, easy-to-read document and will ensure traceability throughout the project life cycle. 

 

Major Job Functions/Components

 

Ø  Build and leverage effective alliances across the technical and business communities.

Ø  Assess upstream application projects to determine data warehouse impacts and initiate estimation effort by documenting high level requirements, impacts, and assumptions in the estimation overview document.

Ø  Elicit business and functional requirements from the business group through formal interviews or facilitated sessions.  Includes:

Ø  Reviewing existing project documentation

Ø  Determining impacted business users

Ø  Preparing interview materials

Ø  Scheduling interviews/sessions

Ø  Facilitating interviews

Ø  Document requirements in concise, easy to understand documentation, following established standards and templates. 

Ø  Assist in the process of developing information or data requirements.

Ø  Assist Project Manager in defining the business scope of the project

Ø  Gain signoff on the finalized requirements from business users and project team members

Ø  Prepare appropriate level presentations to use during review and signoff sessions.

Ø  Ensure all agreed upon in scope requirements are incorporated in the final solution by completing business requirements traceability.

Hiring Requirements/Qualifications

 

Education/Education

Bachelor's Degree 

5 years of business analysis experience. 

7 years of business analysis experience if no Bachelor's Degree.

Professional Certifications

 

 

Hiring Preferences

 

 

Additional Education/Experience Preferences

Ø  Experience with MS Office packages including Visio.

Ø  Healthcare industry experience preferred.

Ø  Familiarity with 1 or more business areas such as claims, providers, or members.

Ø  Data warehousing experience preferred including familiarity with business intelligence, ETL processes, and logical and physical data models

Ø  Business Objects, SQL and Teradata experience a plus

Abilities/Soft Skills

Ø  Strong people skills and the ability to be resourceful , as well as to make concise, independent and defensible decisions in often high-pressure situations. 

Ø  Proven ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, detailed and complex information to others that possess varying degrees of comprehension. 

Ø  Facilitation and presentation skills. 

Ø  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Ø  Demonstrated ability to effectively adapt to and apply rapidly changing technology to business needs.

Ø  Ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in the team's concern for users.

Ø  Strong organizational skills which allow progress on concurrent tasks from separate projects.

Ø  Able to work effectively on a project team, and be highly accountable for results.

Preferred Professional Certification

·         CBAP – certified business analysis professional

 

Working Conditions

·         Periodic on-call responsibilities for application release weekends.

·         Routine office environment with prolonged sitting.

 

Physical Requirements

·         Normal physical requirements for administrative responsibilities carried out at a desk.
