Duration – 6 Months + Contract position

 

 

Team Overview:

Working as part of the Quality Assurance & Release Management team.  You will be working closely with project management team as well as system development team and operation team on deployment plans.  You will also be working with all members of the technology team and members of the business team.  If you are a people person, this is a the job for you.

 

Summary Description:

You will be responsible for ongoing software builds and deployments into the QA and Production environments.  You will also provide timely reporting and issue escalation and lead configuration management process improvement and automation initiatives supporting multiple projects and applications deployments in our software deployment life cycle.

 

You will:

·         Be responsible for ongoing software builds for various applications

·         Schedule and coordinate deployments into the QA environments

·         Schedule and coordinate deployments into the Production environments

·         Provide timely reporting metrics

·         Provide appropriate issue escalation

·         Lead process improvement initiatives for configuration management needs

·         Lead process automation initiatives for configuration management needs

 

You have:

·         3-5 years experience with version control and change management tools and methodology

·         Experience with branching, tagging, merging configuration management concepts using at least 2 toolsets (CVS, PVCS, ClearCase, Git, etc.) on UNIX and Windows NT/2000/XP platforms

·         Familiarity with ITIL (or similar) industry standard

·         Ability to implement solutions in one or more scripting language (PHP, Perl, Shell, etc.)

·         Strong Internet domain experience (Java, Apache, PHP, SQL, HTML, etc.)

·         Strong understanding of Relational Databases (managing DDL and DML changes)

·         Familiar with Java deployment (EARs, WARs, JREs) and Java webservers such as WebSphere and Tomcat

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to interface with multiple teams and multiple levels of management
