Position::11549 Oracle Systems DBA
Location::SAN RAMON CA
Employment:12 Months Contract

Job Description:   
Manufacturing Applications Oracle DBA will provide database administration support and services for Maximo, Meridium, StarLIMS and any other global applications within Manufacturing and OE Systems group.
There are approximately 30 databases the DBA will support/maintain.

Support Tasks
• Support and maintain Meridium and StarLIMS databases
• Application DBA for Maximo
• Maintain system availability
• Performance Tuning
• Refresh Maximo databases
• Create documentation
• Administer all database objects

Project Tasks
• Create new database schemas in Maximo, Meridium and StarLIMS for development and testing
• Create documentation
• Technical and End-user Support

Information Protection (IP)/Routine Duties
• Maintain compliance with IP Policy/ESAS (Enterprise Security Architecture System) Standards
• Conduct SOX/ESAS Quarterly Checks for Oracle database technology
• Review Technical Control checklist for Oracle database technology in Chevron Information Risk Standards (CIRS) system once a year
• Monitor, recommend and implement corrective actions for operating systems, network systems or features which compromise Chevron's IP policies and standards
• Complete required IP training
• Achieve a satisfactory rating on all Financial, IT or SOX audits

Skills:
System DBA
• RMAN backup experience (backup/recovery)
• Patching (both version upgrades like 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 and quarterly critical patch updates with OPatch)
• Experience with RAC and ASM
• Experience with either DBMS_JOB or DBMS_SCHEDULER
• Good troubleshooting skills

Application DBA
• Export and import of schemas
• Assist developers by identifying expensive queries and provide tuning help
• User creation, roles, grants, profiles, etc.
• PL/SQL programming skills (not guru level, but at least some experience)

Other Skills
• Some O/S system administration (shell scripting)
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (not guru level, but at least some experience)
