Title: MS SQL Server DBA
Location: Marlborough, MA- Locals PreferredDuration: 6-12mths
We need a MS SQL Server DBA with strong Data Warehouse experience and Reporting expertise.
You will have a great attitude, be able to work independently and be an eager collaborator.
* Over 8+ Years of experience in Database Administration, System Analysis, Design, Development & Support of MS SQL Servers 2008, 2005 and 2000.
* In-depth knowledge of Transact-SQL (DDL, DML, DCL) and in Design and normalization of the database tables.
* Proficient knowledge of writing, modifying and implementing Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers & SSIS Export & Import.
* Experience in migration from Oracle to SQL Server 2008.
* Good understanding in database and data warehousing concepts (OLTP & OLAP). Experience with logical and physical data modeling and database design using Erwin.
* Logical Data Modeling, Data warehouse design concepts, Dimensional Modeling using Star, Snowflake, Normalized and De-normalized Schemas with respect to query and analysis requirements.
* Experience in Data Warehouse Modeling with SQL Server Analysis Service (SSAS).
* Experience in Creation and deployment of cubes on SSAS.
* Building and maintaining data mart extraction processes.
* Experience in using Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools like DTS and SSIS.
* Good knowledge in SQL Server 2008 Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Crystal Report .
* Good understanding of Microsoft Reporting Service (SSRS) with Report authoring, Report management, Report delivery and Report security and Report Configuration.
* Experience in developing User reports and management reports using MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
* Experience in developing Custom Report and different types of Tabular Reports, Matrix Reports, Ad hoc reports and distributed reports in multiple formats using SQL Server Reporting Services
(SSRS) in Business intelligence development studio (BIDS).
* Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Client/Server Connectivity, and Database Consistency Checks using DBCC Utilities.
* Maintained Database authentication modes, creation of users, configuring permissions and assigning roles to users.
* Experience in Code Optimization and Improving Efficiency in databases including Re-indexing, Updating Statistics, Recompiling Stored Procedures and performing other maintenance tasks.
* Experience in using Performance Monitor/Profiler to solve Dead Locks/Long running queries.
* Good team player, strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with self-motivation, initiative and the ability to think outside the box
