Role Profile:

Responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of corporate databases, includes planning, development and troubleshooting issues with databases and associated systems. Works closely with IS&S project managers, programmers, and developers to assure the application data-layer is designed correctly to perform as expected. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Track end-to-end availability and ensure that SLAs are met, including communicating outages to management and performing root-cause analysis for all outages; manage problems/issues to resolution and within agreed SLAs

·         Manage change control process and ensure changes are consistent with infrastructure and application architecture specifications, including security and disaster recovery review

·         Act as a single point-of-contact for outsourcing vendors account team; responsible for managing data center operations team provider by outsource company

·         Lead, set direction and implement projects in alignment with company's IT strategy

·         Responsible for change management, technical review and architectural compliance

·         Oversee , provide leadership and direction in the installation  and deployment  of  databases (corporate and vendor)

·         Identify application performance bottlenecks and recommend remediation strategies

·         Participate in technical architecture discussions to determine the most-appropriate scalable model, taking into consideration high availability, failover and disaster recovery

·         Oversee and manage security in accordance with corporate policy.

·         Responsible for performance tuning (i.e., DB file structure, index rebuilds, etc.)

·         Monitor SAN space utilization and request additional as needed

·         Work with disaster recovery team to help create DR plans and maintain high availability test environment

·         Automate routing tasks using DBMS specific tools.

·         Maintain business controls to exceed requirements specified by ISO 27001 and SAS70; process improvements based on Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

·         At least 10 years of IT industry experience

·         Advanced knowledge of all aspects of systems administration including system installation and configuration, user account and user group management, and security

·         Ability to resolve issues quickly and correctly

·         Ability to develop and document processes and procedures

·         Demonstrated experience in the use of mathematical analysis to characterize and resolve problems

·         Experience with the testing of emergency response, recovery support and business resumption procedures

·         Ability to communicate successfully with personnel from a wide range of business, engineering, analytical and software development specialties

·         Solid oral and written communication skills

·         Technically competent in Oracle and SQL databases support and design

·         A focus on customer satisfaction with strong interpersonal skills and responsiveness

·         Adherence to IT policies and processes to ensure consistent quality of service

·         Time management skills to ensure customer satisfaction with IT service and the completion of projects on time

·         Excellent  leadership and interpersonal skills 

·         Excellent oral communication and customer relations skills

·         Possess problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making, and planning skills 

·         Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills
