Job Position : Sr. Data Analyst
Job Location : Coppell, TX (need locals who can attend face2face interview)
Job Duration : 12 Months contract
Exp Level: 8+ Yrs (Mandatory)
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot SQL errors and performance issues and address them as they arise
- Provide production support after business hours on a as-needed basis
- Develop and maintain SQL queries as well as UNIX shell scripts to support to the automation of MIS reporting
- Interface with internal MIS resources to ensure that the reports are accurate and deployed in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the MIS team to investigate issues and resolve any reporting discrepancies.
- Identify process improvements and leverage technology to automate and streamline existing report production processes.
- Support various data and report development project initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS degree in MIS or Computer Science is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL including the use of statistical functions, procedures, triggers, views and layout of basic system tables
- Performance tuning knowledge in SQL required – candidate must be able to interpret explain plans, identify bottlenecks in queries and be able to remediate them quickly
- Minimum of 8years experience with data mining tools and programming experience (PL/SQL, TOAD, VBA, VBScripts) is required
- UNIX experience required – knowledge of basic AIX commands, shell scripting experience with bash / KSH
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel automation using VBS / VBA would be preferred.
- Basic HTML knowledge desirable – ability to write simple HTML pages without any GUI tools
- SharePoint experience is highly desirable
- Home Lending business knowledge is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations.
- Highly reliable and critical thinking
- Produce production reports with minimum supervision.
