Position: Jr .Net Web Portal Specialist

Location: Medford, MA

Duration: 6 – 12 months

Rate: $25-30/hr Max

 

One of our Healthcare client is looking for someone very junior for this:  Web Portal Specialist

 

Responsible for configuration, maintenance and support of the organization's secure provider and member web portals.  Handles day-to-day user account management and fields complex internal and external user support calls.  Works with vendors, the e-business team and other areas of IT to ensure that full web portal system value is achieved by increasing the number of users and the breadth of functionality. Assist in the development, maintenance, and support for the organization's public web site using ASP.NET, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, etc.

 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•          Processes all requests for online accounts from providers and members; and continually seeks to streamline the online registration, permissions setup and account activation procedure.

 

•          Configures, maintains and supports the provider and member web portals.  Recommends and processes change requests to improve functionality and content. 

 

•          Works closely with the marketing, information technology, and compliance teams to coordinate and test changes to content, site organization, and system updates.

 

•          Where feasible, works to enable self-service content publishing for marketing, for the provider portal, the member portals, and the public website.

 

•          Provides end-user support services for user account management and for higher-complexity portal functionality questions and issues.  Works with Provider Relations, Customer Service and other customer-facing departments to conduct portal training, define handoffs, and to provide technical advice and guidance for problems involving the end-user interface, browser, and portal functionality.

 

•          Works with the webmaster, vendor, and others to troubleshoot portal system issues and user account problems.

 

•          Monitors vendor release notes for applicability and value of new features.

 

•          Conducts other web portal activities including but not limited to:  prepares system documentation; regularly and proactively checks portal components for functional and content errors and takes necessary corrective action; periodically runs and documents security/permissions audits of web portal users and takes necessary action; etc.

 

•          Provides regular updates to the e-Business manager to note progress, discuss obstacles and next steps, and plan availability for future production and project work. 

 

•          Handles other e-business work activities, as-needed.

 

EXPERIENCE        Strong familiarity with basic web and internet technology

•          Experience with Microsoft.NET VB,NET

•          Experience with HTML, CSS, ASP.NET

•          Familiarity with managed care business concepts and ability to translate business needs into web portal solutions

•          Experience and knowledge of PC and browser support

•          Demonstrated ability to develop and implement project plans

•          Strong communication and organizational skills

Must have the ability to learn and work quickly, working closely with the manager on customized and complex projects requiring a high degree of analytical and technical skill. Must be able to learn to recognize and take into account the broader business, operational and financial impact of focused, department-specific initiatives, analytic questions and/or decisions. Requires good problem solving ability, initiative, creativity and judgment.
