HOT JOB: Application Performance Analyst / Contract: 6 months (extensions can go very long here) / Location :Location: MN/ Rate : $38/hr

 

Departmental Required Skills:

·        Intermediate knowledge of RUM, Gomez, Windows Server 2003/2008/2008R2

·        Knowledge of and experience with APM best practices and technologies

·        Knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management

·        Basic Knowledge of Load Balancing, Firewalls and Proxy Servers

·        Able to work non-traditional hours when requested

 

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

·         Strong customer relationship skills

·         Comfortable with ambiguity, active inquiry skills, strong written communication skills

·         Strong troubleshooting and technical analysis skills

·         Ability to work collaboratively across teams

·         Experience with web application architecture and troubleshooting, in particular load balanced web applications

·         Experience with network architecture and troubleshooting

·         Working knowledge of HTTP and TCP protocols

·         Basic knowledge in SQL

·         Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server OS desirable

·         Experience scripting system administration tasks in Powershell or vbscript

FULL DESCRIPTON:
Responsibilities:
The APM (Application Performance Management) Tools Analyst will serve as the Product lead for RUM (HP's APM) and Gomez, responsible for product lifecycle. This entails designing, installing, operating, and maintaining the tools and publishing best practices. This includes coordinating agent upgrades with various organizations, and troubleshooting monitoring failures.

The Analyst will work with vendor support to help resolve issues and answer questions, while also working closely with IT Operations to test and implement changes and fixes. They will document the installation and configuration steps for compliance purposes and manage licenses, becoming familiar with signed contracts.

The Analyst will monitor and respond to automated alerts and metrics, managing and maintaining pertinent dashboards. Position will serve in an on-call rotation, and will require occasional evening or weekend hours. The candidate must comply with U.S. Export Laws and Regulations.

 

May need to work overtime to deal with incident and change management. Vendor required to provide candidate with smartphone with data plan, and vender will assume those costs.

Minimum Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline and three-five years of experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
