Front-End web Developer

Title: Front-End Developer

Location: Universal City, CA

Location: 6+ Months

As a Front End Web Developer, you will be responsible for developing websites and interactive experiences using the latest creative technologies and best practices.  Responsibilities include the implementation and completion of new product development tasks, operational support and overall technical expertise on web technologies. 

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, (X)HTML, AJAX, PHP with 3+ years of professional web development experience
• Ability to code complex JavaScript applications using object-oriented concepts and CSS/DOM expertise
• Experience cutting up PSDs, creating sprites and integrating assets into a complete website - with pixel-level detail
• Understanding of databases and content management systems
• Knowledge of service-oriented architectures
• Strong problem solving ability
• Must be a positive team player with solid social/interpersonal skills
• Must have the passion and willingness to take ownership of projects from requirements gathering through launch and post maintenance
• Must manage multiple projects with open/changing due dates and maintain calm under pressure
• Must have attention to detail

 

Desired Characteristics:

• Expert knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, Dojo, Ember, Knockout, Backbone, JavaScriptMVC, gameQuery, Crafty and Impact with experience writing plug-ins or extensions
• Expert knowledge of CSS grids and frameworks
• Hands-on experience with SEO, page load time optimization and Facebook Open Graph/APIs
• Experience with server-side integration using MVC frameworks, MySQL, Oracle a plus
• HTML5 or mobile development experience
• Solid understanding of high capacity applications, caching and content distribution networks
• Experience with version control systems such as Subversion or GIT
• Understanding of the business behind traffic-based commercial websites and how to maximize pageviews and unique visitors
• Media industry experience a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
