Position : Linux Administrator

Location : Dallas, TX.

Duration : 12 Months.

 

 

The Infrastructure Engineer will support Open Source monitoring infrastructure based on Hyperic monitoring system for multiple clients.

Similar experience like Nagios is also welcome. Support Open Source Monitoring tools for multiple clients in a Window/Linux environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Solve a variety of unique issues relating to the use of one or more integrated open source components in support of the enterprise monitoring environment 
Mandatory participant in after hours on call rotation in support of 24x7x365 enterprise monitoring environment. 


Job Requirements :

Demonstrated ability and willingness embrace the challenge of new, emerging languages and techniques from the Open Source arena as it

relates to monitoring servers and applications. Experience developing monitoring applications utilizing PHP, JavaScript/Java, VBscript and

implement through use of basic web-enabling technologies XML/XSL, AJAX, HTML/XHTML,CSS when applicable. 

Some experience/familiarity working with open source technologies such as JBOSS, Eclipse, Tomcat, Hibernate, desired. 
Experience/familiarity with relational database management related to the following Oracle, Postgres, MySQL. 
Preferred: Nagios, Hyperic (VMware product), Accepted: MS SCOM (System Center Operations Manager), Solarwinds,

OpenNMS, Ground Works Cacti, RRD (Round Robin Database) experience. 
Expertise in scripting languages, specifically Perl, PHP and UNIX/Linux host scripting (bash, Ksh).
