Position: Mainframe Developer

Duration: 3 months

Location: Horsham, PA

Job Description:

 

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced IT professional to join our Production Support team. This individual will be responsible to support batch scheduling on both Mainframe and Mid-Tier platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible to schedule batch jobs in both CA-7 and AutoSys
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis
• Responsible and accountable for any assigned incoming Production Support requests
• Accountable for the effectiveness, quality and timeliness of issues resolution
• Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of problems
• Create, enhance and debug existing NTScript or VBScript code 
• Provide data management analysis
• Assist with problem identification, escalation and the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures
• Responsible for application releases
• Deliver training to team members in support of enhancements and production fixes
• Support Disaster Recovery testing
• Create and maintain documentation for all batch processes
• Identify opportunities for business process improvements
• Continuously improve business knowledge and systems analysis skills and competencies

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree or higher strongly preferred 
• Minimum 7 years experience in Information Technology
• Must be available to provide 24x7 on-call support
• Experience with both IBM z/OS Mainframe and Windows Mid-Tier environment is desirable
• Experience with the some of following: TSO/ISPF, Mainframe JCL, JES listings, CA-7, VSAM, DB2, IAM, SQL, BMC utilities, File-Aid, REXX, NTScript, VBScript, AutoSys, FTP, Textpad, SAS, SyncSort, MS Access, Excel, Power Point, MS Project
• Must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills are a must
• Strong customer and team focus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary
• Willingness to learn new technologies in order to perform the task at hand
• Ability to understand business requirements
• Ability to estimate and deliver on commitments
• Experience with version control and release management principles is desirable
