Position: SQL DBA with Cognos
Location: Stamford/Hartford, CT
Duration: 6+ Months
Interview timings between 6:30AM – 11:30 AM EST

Relevant Experience (Yrs):

*    6+ years of IT Experience

Technical/Functional Skills:

·       Experience in a virtual environment providing guidance and direction to a cross-functional development team
·       Experience with Oracle, SQL Server 2000-2008 including configuration, performance tuning, migration, troubleshooting, clustering,
        replication, mirroring, etc.
·       Experience with 3rd party tools such as SQL LiteSpeed, RedGate,AutoSys, etc.
·       RDBMS level SAN Support and configuration
·       SSAS, SSIS, SSRS configuration support
·       Cognos experience a plus

Experience Required:

.    Need to be proactive and good at communicating things assertively

Roles & Responsibilities:

.    The role of the Development DBA to ensure that all database support (development and transitional) in regards to optimization, standards,
      benchmarks, and reusability is provided .
.    This role will also provide direction on database migration and metadata distribution best practices.
·       Generate, configure, and optimize the performance of the databases.
·       Support the efforts of the test lead and deployment lead to plan,manage, and deploy the application.
·       Operate and support the database.
·       Update logical and physical database designs with changes.
·       Document benchmarks and procedures needed to optimize performance.
.    Ensure that all guidelines are followed.
·       Provide input on any design decisions for interfacing or integrating databases.
·       Work with the configuration manager to determine change control and impact analysis for the databases.
·       Plan disaster recovery and execution activities.
·       Provide guidance and direction on Reporting tools data acquisition best practices (i.e. Reporting Services, Cognos)

Education:

.    Minimum Bachelors degree
