Overview
- This is a cool, challenging opportunity for rock-star talent (or almost-there rockstar talent)
- Must be an 8 out of 10 skill level with .NET and WinForms including multi-threading
- This position requires good technical skills, particularly in the .NET environment. Working knowledge of complex web architectures is also important as well as the ability to work well directly with users. The selected candidate should be able to deliver under pressure and be comfortable with Agile programming styles. The selected candidate will support our client's e-commerce search engine efforts; so consumer-focused and usability experience is a plus.
- The candidate must be familiar with full software development lifecycle and will be involved in initial design, specification, prototyping, integration testing and long term maintenance activities.
- The candidate should be familiar with Unit testing
- The candidate must familiar with the fundamentals of .NET development such as object oriented programming, basic patterns (i.e. Singleton, Factory), modeling, generics and LINQ-to-SQL
- This position requires the ability to operate both independently and as part of a team to produce high-quality software. This position will require strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users, managers and customers.
A Successful Candidate will Demonstrate:
-- Expertise developing in .NET technologies (C#, Framework 3.5, WinForms and Web Services)
-- Experience developing, deploying and supporting n-Tier business applications
-- Expert knowledge of object-oriented design techniques.

Responsibilities
The senior developer will be responsible for
-- Analysis of current programs including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem programs, and designing solutions to problematic programming.
-- Design, develop, maintain and enhance complex multi-tiered .Net applications.
-- C#, WinForms, Web Services
-- Understanding of web architecture such as session, cache, cookies, connection pooling
-- System and/or application development experience
-- Experience with client side pages performance optimizations
-- Strong development skills (.NET Framework / C# is desired; other OOP experience would be considered)
-- Strong database knowledge (Oracle and/or SQL Server are preferred)
-- Experience with database performance and tuning
-- Experience in application development in the financial services industry
-- Strong, demonstrable client focus experience
-- B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or similar (not required with valid experience and skill sets)
-- Provide expertise, lead technical meetings, and communicate effectively with different development teams and departments
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of in-depth experience in object oriented business application design and development.
At least 3 years of professional experience
-- working as a senior developer building enterprise-level Windows Forms (WinForms) applications
-- developing medium to large scale, distributed multi-threaded n-tier applications
-- in Microsoft .Net (C#, WinForms, Web Services, WCF, ADO.NET )
-- developing applications that use MS SQL Server 2005/2008 databases. MS SQL Server Reporting Services is a plus.
Education
-- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
-- Will consider other candidates with non-technical degrees based upon significant job experience.
-- Advanced degree is a plus.
